Bonus seconds, a game changer The most significant innovation this year is the introduction of time bonuses, both at stage finishes and intermediate sprints. Common in elite European races, such incentives are new to Rwanda. And they can only make Tour du Rwanda better and more competitive. For the first time, seconds will be on offer midway through stages, beginning in Nyagatare on Stage One. This change is designed to end passive racing and encourage constant aggression.
