Rwanda Premier League title hopefuls Police FC host rivals Rayon Sports in a highly anticipated clash on Friday, February 13 at Kigali Pelé Stadium. Police head into the encounter seeking redemption after a 1-0 defeat to AS Kigali last week, a result that saw them drop to third place with 34 points, four behind leaders Al Hilal. Prior to their recent setbacks, the law enforcers had enjoyed a strong campaign, registering nine wins, seven draws, and just two defeats in 18 matches. Rayon Sports, meanwhile, sit seventh on the table with 29 points after 19 rounds. The Blues have recorded nine wins, five draws, and five losses this season. Though inconsistent in recent outings, they remain determined to close the gap on the top sides, including Al Hilal (38 points) and APR (37 points). “This is an important game for us. We have prepared well over the past three weeks. Although we have some injury concerns, I’m optimistic we can play good football and win. It’s important that we don’t lose this game,” Police captain Eric ‘Zidane’ Nsabimana told Times Sport. Rayon forward Gloire Tambwe acknowledged the magnitude of the fixture, but noted that they are ready for it. Elsewhere on Friday, fourth-placed Al Merrikh (33 points) visit Musanze (28 points).
