World Number 134 Marco Trungelliti will headline the ATP Challenger 2026 scheduled in Kigali from March 2-15. Trungelliti, 35, is no stranger to the tournament in Kigali. The Argentine enjoyed notable success when the tournament debuted in the Rwandan capital in March 2024, winning the ATP Challenger 50 title after defeating Frenchman Clément Tabur in the final. Holding a career-high No. 112, he will battle for valuable ATP points and prize money across two weeks of competition. The Rwanda ATP Challenger will feature back-to-back tournaments — an ATP Challenger 75 followed by an ATP Challenger 100 — marking the third consecutive year the country hosts the prestigious event. Gea recently reached the second round of the Australian Open 2026 and stunned World No.56 Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the Open Occitanie in France. Meanwhile, 22-year-old Ivorian professional Eliakim Coulibaly will be the only African player among the top-ranked entrants in this year’s main draw. This will mark his third appearance at the Kigali-hosted ATP Challengers. Last year, he reached the quarterfinals but, a month later, he raised his performance and won his maiden ATP Challenger title before his home crowd in Abidjan. ALSO READ: Royer wins back-to-back Challenger trophies in Kigali The tournament draw will consist of 21 direct acceptances, three wild cards, six qualifiers, and two special exemptions, completing the main draw lineup for the competition. The Rwanda Challenger, hosted annually in Kigali since 2024, is part of the African Tennis Tour calendar, which also includes tournaments in Abidjan and Brazzaville, among other cities. The first week of competition (ATP Challenger 75) will run from March 2–8, while the second week (ATP Challenger 100) is scheduled for March 9–15.Both tournaments will take place at the RP-Kigali College courts at Kicukiro Ecology Tennis Club.
