Tigers Basketball Club have acquired American shooting guard Anthony Tarke on a season-long deal. The 28-year-old brings valuable experience from the NBA G League, where he previously featured for the Long Island Nets. At college level, Tarke played for the NJIT Highlanders, UTEP Miners, and Coppin State Eagles, earning MEAC Player of the Year honours during the 2020–21 season. At Tigers, he will link up with countryman Antino Jackson, who joined the club in the offseason after playing a key role in APR’s 2025 league championship triumph. Tarke’s arrival is part of an aggressive offseason recruitment drive as Tigers look to strengthen their title ambitions ahead of the 2026 Rwanda Basketball League season, which tips off on February 8. The club has also extended contracts of four senior players including center Pitchou Manga, point guard Lars Ishimwe, shooting guard Herve Ikishatse, and small forward Fiston Irutingabo. Off the court, Tigers bolstered their technical bench with the appointment of Kenny Gasana as assistant coach, working alongside head coach Henry Mwinuka. With a busy and purposeful offseason behind them, Tigers will be aiming to improve on last season’s fifth-place league finish, which ended on a high note with victory in the Rwanda Cup.
