Alyn Sano is in Los Angeles this week, taking part in The NAMM Show 2026 while also working on new music projects as she continues to push her career onto the international stage. The global music industry gathering runs from January 20 to 24 at the Anaheim Convention Center and brings together musicians, producers, innovators and industry leaders from around the world. Organized by the National Association of Music Merchants, The NAMM Show is the world’s largest music trade event. Each year, it draws artists and professionals to explore new instruments and audio technology, attend workshops, watch live performances and connect with people shaping the future of the industry. For Sano, the experience is both personal and professional. “Attending The NAMM Show is an incredible honour and a big step in my career,” she said in an interview with The New Times. “It is a chance to connect with the global music family, learn from the best and share a piece of Rwanda’s musical spirit with the world. I am proud to represent Rwanda and our sound on such a global stage.” The Afro pop and soul singer has steadily built a reputation for emotionally charged live performances and a voice that carries easily across borders. She rose to wider attention after finishing in the Top 10 on The Voice Afrique Francophone and has since picked up several awards, including Best Female Artiste, while performing at major events across the region. Following the release of her debut album “Rumuri,” alongside a string of singles and collaborations, Sano says she is deep into work on new projects, some of which will be released soon. She also called on industry players and fans, known as the ‘Sano Angels,’ to continue supporting artistes and investing in homegrown talent. Fans can mark this moment by streaming “Turn It Up,” her latest release and a snapshot of where her music is headed.
