Rwanda men’s national handball team head coach Hafedh Zouabi has named Gicumbi HC goalkeeper Dominique Nsabimana in his final squad for the 2026 African Men’s Handball Championship, which will be hosted in Kigali. Zouabi made a minor adjustment to his squad by bringing in Nsabimana to replace Arsene Uwayezu in goal. The inclusion marks another milestone for the young goalkeeper, who has previously represented Rwanda at youth level. ALSO READ: What to know about 2026 African handball championship Nsabimana was part of Rwanda’s U20 team that competed at the intercontinental phase of the 2024/25 IHF Trophy Men’s Youth and Junior Tournament in Pristina, Kosovo, where Rwanda earned a bronze medal and proudly represented Africa on the global stage. Rwanda has been drawn in Group A alongside Algeria, Zambia, and Nigeria. The hosts will open their campaign against Zambia on January 21 at BK Arena, with the match scheduled for 8:00 PM, shortly after the official opening ceremony of the championship. The 27th edition of the African Men’s Handball Championship will feature 16 nations, all battling for a top-five finish, which guarantees direct qualification for the 2027 IHF Men’s World Championship.
