Rwanda Generation Pooltable (RGP) were Sunday, January 18, emerged winners of the Rwanda Cue Kings Championship third edition held at Mundi Center. Drums had dominated the championship in the past two editions before RGP eliminated them in the semifinals and went on the defeat Eza Breakers in the final to bag a cash prize of Rwf 1,000,000. Runners-up Eza Breakers took home Rwf 700,000. Snipers claimed third place after beating Drums in the third-place playoff and walked away with Rwf 400,000. The third edition of the championship, organised by the Rwanda Billiards Federation, highlighted the rise of a refreshed generation at RGP, signaling a shift in the balance of power in Rwanda’s cue sports scene. Speaking after the tournament, Rwanda Billiards Federation president Jean Claude Shema praised the championship’s impact on the sport’s growth. “We are excited by the progress being made in cue sports in Rwanda. Following the successful organisation of the third edition of the championship, the future looks very promising,” Shema said. “In addition, we are in the process of legally registering the federation, and we expect to be officially registered with the Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) in the coming months. This year, we are also planning an extensive outreach program that will involve clubs from all provinces across the country,” he added. The Rwanda Cue Kings Championship continues to build momentum after its first edition in June 2025 and second edition in September 2025, with the third edition marking a new chapter as new champions emerged.
