From 2024 to 2025, Authentic Word Ministries (AWM) and Zion Temple Celebration Center (ZTCC) emerged as catalysts of socio-economic transformation in Rwanda, distributing over Rwf1 billion in loans and creating more than 1,000 jobs for the youth across multiple sectors like education, finance, health, social welfare, media and more. Authentic Word Ministries and Zion Temple celebration center, a faith-based organisation under the leadership of Apostle Dr Paul M. Gitwaza, has combined spiritual guidance with tangible community development. The institution now serves 4,718 clients, including individuals, businesses, and cooperatives, and has disbursed over Rwf1.05 billion in loans to individuals, Rwf112 million to businesses, and Rwf78 million to cooperatives. “This facility is a lifeline for rural communities and aspiring entrepreneurs,” AWM management said, adding that next year's priority is women- and youth-led enterprises. According to the management, education remains central to AWM’s mission. The Authentic International Academy Schools, operating across five locations, served 2,072 students guided by 72 teachers in 2025. “Authentic International Academy Kigali introduced the globally recognised Accelerated Christian Education Curriculum, offering mastery-based learning rooted in biblical principles,” the AWM management said. Health and social welfare initiatives have also been a cornerstone of the church’s work. For instance, Bethsaida Health Center provided care to 14,899 patients in 2025, ranging from maternal health to HIV treatment. During the annual commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, AWM and ZTCC supported widows and orphans with housing, health insurance, and scholastic materials, totaling Rwf36.5 million. In 2025, the church partnered with the Kigali Training Center to address drug abuse and prostitution through advocacy and training. “The workshops and awareness sessions provided participants with life skills and positive alternatives to risky behaviours. A total of 7,641 people participated and responded positively to these initiatives.” “The collaboration strengthened community awareness and promoted safer, healthier communities through education and empowerment,” the AWM management said. In addition, over 442 vulnerable individuals in Kicukiro District received medical insurance coverage, reinforcing community-based health initiatives. During the 31st Commemoration of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi, Zion Temple CC provided mental health counselling across eight sites, with 10 survivors receiving specialised therapy to rebuild emotional resilience. “This intervention promoted healing, reconciliation, and mental well-being within the community.” Media that spiritually shapes society Through Radio O and TV O, AWM has leveraged media to address pressing societal issues such as family unity, youth discipline, health, and peacebuilding, gender-based violence and road safety campaigns in partnership with Rwanda National Police. “With a daily reach of up to 70,000 listeners and coverage of more than 70 per cent of the country, these programmes have reduced substance abuse, reinforced moral values, and promoted reconciliation,” the AWM management said. What stood out The Authentic Events initiative, launched in 2024, has rapidly expanded Rwanda’s event industry. “By 2025, the organisation had created 1,780 jobs, while hosting world-class conferences and gospel concerts aligned with the national MICE strategy.” “Partnerships with leading choirs and artists have positioned Rwanda as a regional hub for faith-based entertainment, opening new avenues for youth employment and industry growth,” the AWM management explained. “Through these events, we are not just entertaining; we are creating opportunities, nurturing talent, and boosting Rwanda’s economy,” added an AWM management.
