Rayon Sports head coach Bruno Ferry admitted he was disappointed after failing to secure a winning start to his tenure as Rayon Sports head coach. The Blues were held to a 1-1 draw by Etincelles at Kigali Pele Stadium on Saturday, December 27, a result that left the Frenchman unimpressed in his first competitive match in charge of the club. We must change our character and attitude,” Ferry said in a post-match interview. “We created many clear chances, but we did not score.” “I still wonder how we could not score more goals. There are some things that should not continue to happen, and I have told the players,” he added. “We will analyze everything and get back to work on Monday because we have another week to prepare for the next match,” he said. The coach emphasized that changes must be made, noting that certain behaviors displayed by the players do not align with the standards and vision of a club like Rayon Sports. He stressed that it is his responsibility to correct these issues and reshape the team’s mindset. Although Ferry acknowledged the need to improve both defensively and offensively, he insisted that the most important changes must begin mentally. “If you have a good mentality, you can do great things. That is where we must put a lot of effort,” he said. Speaking about his tactical approach, Ferry explained that he wants his team to play attractive football by keeping the ball on the ground rather than relying on long balls. Rayon Sports currently sit seventh on Rwanda Premier League table with 21 points. They have one game in hand.
