Kigali’s end-of-year celebrations are set to kick off in style with New Year Countdown, an open-air music event scheduled for December 30 at Atelier Du Vin’s parking lot. Starting at 7:00pm till late, the night will be headlined by British-Jamaican producer and Amapiano DJ Skyla Tylaa, promising an energetic build-up to the festive season’s grand finale. About Skyla Tylaa Born Skye Pollock, Skyla Tylaa is a British DJ, producer, and rising recording artist widely recognized as a leading international figure in the Amapiano annd Afro-electronic music scenes. Throughout 2025, she has transitioned from a high-profile DJ to a recording artist, releasing major singles including “Bombshell (Cheza)” featuring Diamond Platnumz, Tyler ICU, and Khalil Harrison, as well a “Vele Uyena (Risk It All)” and “Black Music.” Her global performance résumé includes appearances at major festivals such as AfroNation (Portugal, Miami, and Nigeria), Wireless Festival, and the Montreux Jazz Festival. She has also opened for international stars including Wizkid, Drake and Rihanna, and previously served as tour DJ for Russ Millions. Following the New Year Countdown, Atelier Du Vin will remain at the heart of Kigali’s festive celebrations on December 31 with Midnight East-Kigali, part of Africa’s first synchronized New Year’s Eve party themed “Four Cities. One Midnight.” The initiative places Kigali among four cities sharing a unified countdown to midnight. Midnight East Kigali will feature an international DJ lineup including Chelsea Sloan (South Africa), Joozey (Tanzania), and Etania (Uganda), alongside Rwanda’s DJ Niny and DJ Lamper, with Rocky Try hosting the countdown. Guests can choose from exclusive table packages, with a Platinum table for eight people priced at Rwf 1,000,000 (including two bottles and two beer buckets), while a Diamond table of eight costs Rwf 2,500,000, featuring four bottles and two beer buckets.
