PHOTOS: RNP gets 1,900 new police officers

The Rwanda National Police (RNP) welcomed 1,903 new officers, including 359 women, following the successful completion of the 21st intake's Basic Police Course at the Police Training School (PTS) in Gishari, Rwamagana District. The pass-out ceremony, officiated by Minister of Interior Vincent Biruta on Monday, December 22, featured demonstrations in public order management and shooting drills, showcasing the trainees' newly acquired skills and readiness to serve. Commissioner of Police (CP) Raphael Niyonshuti, Commandat of the PTS, Gishari, commended the graduates for their dedication, emphasizing that discipline is the pillar of this profession. He assured them of ongoing support and further training throughout their careers. Minister Biruta praised the recruits' hard work and positive attitude. The skills you have acquired provide a strong foundation for the responsibilities ahead, he said. He also thanked the RNP leadership for their efforts in building the force's capacity and affirmed the government's commitment to strengthening the police in numbers, skills, and resources to protect citizens and their property.
