Police FC extended their unbeaten run in the Rwanda Premier League after edging Etincelles 1-0 at Umuganda Stadium on Saturday. A first-half strike from winger Richard Kirongozi proved decisive. The Burundian star found the net in the 45th minute to hand Police all three points. The victory moved Ben Moussa’s side to 29 points from 13 matches, maintaining their place at the top of the league table. Police dominated much of the second half and created several scoring opportunities but failed to add to the tally. Both Elijah Ani and Lague Byiringiro came close, only to see their efforts go wide. Etincelles attempted to find an equaliser through counterattacks in the second half, but Police remained solid across defence and midfield to preserve their clean sheet. Elsewhere, Mukura VS claimed bragging rights in the Southern Province derby after defeating Amagaju FC 1-0 courtesy of an early goal from Samuel Pimpong in the 12th minute. Meanwhile, APR FC returned to winning ways after failing to collect maximum points in their previous two matches. Djibril Ouattara and Aliou Souane scored in either half in the 45th and 93rd minutes as the army side grabbed three points of the day. Elsewhere, Musanze FC produced a dominant display by humbling AS Muhanga to a 3-0 victory. Charles Nonso opened the scoring in the second minute and Tity Hakizimana’s brace in the 45th and 80th minutes sealed the win.
