In the same ruling, the court ordered the immediate release of John Kalisa, widely known as K John, after finding that there were no sufficient grounds to justify his continued detention. The ruling was delivered on Wednesday, December 17, after the court session proceeded without the jury, which was not available. As a result, the decision was read by the court writer on behalf of the court. According to the ruling, the court found strong reasons warranting the temporary detention of the four suspects, noting that the case requires further investigation and that releasing them at this stage could affect the process. However, the court determined that the evidence presented against Kalisa did not meet the threshold required for remand, leading to his release on bail. The ruling had initially been scheduled for December 11 but was later adjourned. Investigations into the case are ongoing, and the four suspects will remain in custody for the next 30 days pending further legal proceedings.
