A total of 28 teams have confirmed their participation in the 2025/26 Peace Cup, according to the local football governing body FERWAFA. The federation announced that the competition will feature 16 First Division teams, 10 Second Division sides, and two Third Division clubs. All clubs competing in the Rwanda Premier League have been registered, including defending champions APR FC and runners-up Rayon Sports. However, Sudanese sides Al Hilal SC and Al-Merrikh, who currently compete in the Rwanda Premier League, are not eligible to participate in the Peace Cup. The list of Second Division teams includes Intare FC, Nkombo FC, Unity FC, UR FC, Nyanza FC, Vision FC, Motar FC, City Boys, La Jeunesse, and Muhazi United. Representing the Third Division are Imanzi FC and Teleos Arrows. FERWAFA has yet to announce the official start date for the tournament. APR FC lifted the 2024/25 Peace Cup after defeating Rayon Sports 2–0 in the final held at Amahoro Stadium in May. Cheick Djibril Ouattara and Gilbert Mugisha were on target as the army side claimed the trophy for the first time since 2017. The winner of the Peace Cup will represent Rwanda in the CAF Confederation Cup.
