Les Amis Sportifs rider Pacifique Byusa and Gisele Nishimwe of Cine Elmay Cycling Club finished as overall champions of the 2025 Youth Racing Cup season which concluded at Amahoro Stadium on Sunday, December 14. Byusa ,17, amassed 163 points to top the junior men’s general classification, despite finishing Sunday’s final round in second place, just three seconds behind race winner Jonathan Rafiki Muhawenimana of Cine Elmay Cycling Club, who completed 40 laps in 48 minutes and 47 seconds. Robert Shema, also from Les Amis Sportifs, finished third, 18 seconds adrift. “I worked very hard to finish at the top this year. Credit goes to our coaches for their daily advice,” Byusa told Times Sport. “I still have one year in the junior category, and I believe I can strive to be better.” In the women’s juniors category, Nishimwe dominated the women juniors season standings, collecting 80 points to secure the overall title, despite missing out on the podium in the final race. The last women’s juniors race was won by Claudine Ahishakiye of Bugesera Cycling Team, who clocked 48 minutes and 54 seconds, followed by her teammate Ancilla Uwizeyimana. The final round attracted 356 riders, competing across five age categories namely Pupilles (U11), Benjamins (U13), Minimes (U15), Cadets (U17), and Juniors (U19).
