A police officer shot and seriously injured two people before taking his own life in an incident that happened at midnight, Wednesday, December 10, in Boneza Sector, Rutsiro District. Superintendent of Police Sylvestre Twajamahoro, the Police Spokesperson in Western Province, confirmed the incident, noting that the victims include a civilian and a member of DASSO [District Administration Security Support Organ]. Yes, it is true, a police officer shot and injured two people in Boneza Sector in Rutsiro District, including a civilian and a DASSO officer,” stated SP Twajamahoro. “The officer then shot himself and died.” The two injured victims were taken to CHUK for medical attention while the body of the police officer was taken to the Kigali Forensic Laboratory (KFL),” the Police Spokesperson added.
