At least 18 teams are expected to take part in the 18th edition of the Tour du Rwanda, scheduled for February 22 to March 1, 2026. The development was confirmed by Rwanda Cycling Federation (FERWACY) president Samson Ndayishimiye, who said that all participating teams will be officially unveiled on December 22. Routes, sponsors, and other key details will also be revealed during the presentation event. “We will announce them (teams) soon,” Ndayishimiye told Times Sport, adding, “Everything about preparations is going well.” Among the confirmed participants is Team Rwanda, whose selected riders are currently in a training camp in Musanze for early preparations. The 2026 race will be the first Tour du Rwanda held after Kigali successfully hosted the historic 2025 UCI Road World Championships in September. It will also be the first edition under new race coordinator Hubert Nkurayija who replace Freddy Kamuzinzi to the role.
