Kayonza District Council has dismissed mayor John Bosco Nyemazi over poor service delivery, The New Times has learned. Nyemazi was relieved of his duties on Sunday, November 7, along with the Vice Mayor in charge of Economic Development, Hope Munganyinka and Jean Damascene Harelimana who was in charge of Social Affairs. Speaking to The New Times, the Head of the Kayonza District Council, Doreen Basiime Kalimba, confirmed the development. “It is true that the District Council has dismissed them today,” Basiime stated, adding that their dismissal is also related to their failure to find a proper response to problems affecting citizens, resulting from droughts.
