Saturday results Police 0-0 APR Rutsiro FC 1-1 Gorilla FC AS Muhanga 0-1 Amagaju FC Gasogi United 0-2 Marine FC Police FC were denied the opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the Rwanda Premier League table following a goalless draw against APR FC on Saturday at Kigali Pele Stadium. The match’s most contentious moment came in the 31st minute when winger Lague Byiringiro celebrated what he believed was the opening goal, only for referee Remy Victory Nshimiyimana to disallow it. The decision sparked debate among fans and players from both ends as the goal came from an indirect free kick which, according to Article 13 of the International Football Association Board (IFAB) laws, must touch another player before entering the net. Police created several opportunities to seal the win but Byiringiro, Christian Ishimwe, Richard Kirongozi, Ani Elijah, and Alain Bacca Kwitonda failed to convert their scoring chances. APR FC also had chances to score but Bosco Ruboneka, Djibril Ouattara, and Denis Omedi all failed to find the breakthrough. The draw keeps Police FC at the summit with 23 points—four points ahead of second-placed APR FC, who now sit on 19 points after 10 league matches. Elsewhere, Rutsiro FC and Gorilla FC settled for a 1-1 draw at Umuganda Stadium, while AS Muhanga suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Amagaju FC. Marines FC climbed to third place with 18 points after a 2-0 victory over Gasogi United at Kigali Pele Stadium.
