Daniel Gathof and his teammate Bart Classens claimed their second stage at the Rwanda Epic 2025 after winning Stage 3 of the men’s duo race held in Musanze on Wednesday. The Belgian-Dutch duo completed the 52.9km circuit around Musanze— featuring an elevation gain of 883 meters—in 2 hours, 5 minutes and 26 seconds, finishing 3 minutes and 11 seconds ahead of Kenya’s Dan Kiptata and his partner Lukas Baum. Zambian riders Levy Pyele and Erneste Mazabuka rounded out the podium in third place. In the women’s duo category, Rwanda’s Martha Ntakirutimana and Dutch rider Elodie Kuijper continued to shine, taking the stage win in 3 hours, 3 minutes and 46 seconds. South African pair Bianca Haw and Wade Young extended their flawless run in the mixed duo category, securing their third consecutive stage victory. After opening their campaign with a win at Fazenda Sengha in Nyamirambo and dominating Stage 2 from Rulindo to Musanze, they triumphed again in Musanze with a time of 2 hours, 32 minutes and 14 seconds. They were followed by Portugal’s Oscar Pujol and Mude Rodriguez, who trailed by 13 minutes and 7 seconds, while the Portuguese-Italian team of Roberto Barreros Huertos and Danila Fumero finished third. In the solo category, British rider Thomas Nærland claimed the Stage 3 victory in 2 hours, 18 minutes and 18 seconds. Rwanda’s Jackson Nkurikiyinka narrowly missed the win, finishing just three seconds behind, while Belgian Wim Wijnen placed third in 2 hours, 28 minutes and 8 seconds. The fourth stage, scheduled for Thursday ahead of the grand finale, will take riders around the foothills of Volcanoes National Park in Kinigi, covering 29.8km with an elevation gain of 514 meters.
