CANAL+ Rwanda has launched a new channel dedicated exclusively to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), offering viewers an immersive behind‑the‑scenes look at the entire journey of the 35th edition of Africa’s biggest football tournament. The announcement was made on December 1, as excitement builds ahead of the tournament, which will begin on December 21, in Rabat, Morocco. Subscribers will also be able to revisit the legacy of African Nations Championship (CHAN) and explore the iconic moments that have shaped AFCON over its 35 editions, according to Sophie TCHATCHOUA, CEO of Canal+ Rwanda. We want to entertain our subscribers with our best experts, including Charles Mbouya, one of the most recognised names in African sports journalism,” she said. Showcased on Channel 16, the CAN channel will be joining sports channels, giving viewers the option to choose which match they want to watch whenever two games take place on the same day. CANAL+ also announced a major promotional offer for existing subscribers. Anyone who renews their subscription this month will receive 30 days of access to the full bouquet, including premium channels such as the four SuperSport stations. The new CANAL+ CAN channel is accessible from the platform’s lowest bouquet, priced at Rwf 6,000, ensuring affordability ahead of the championship. “For those who are not football fans, the entertainment offering remains broad and family-friendly. With over 300 channels available across all genres, from movies and documentaries to children’s programmes and Kinyarwanda content.
