Gospel songstress Jesca Mucyowera ushered worshippers into a night of praise and spiritual renewal during her “Restoring Worship Experience” concert at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village on November 2. The event brought together leading gospel voices, including Alarm Ministries, True Promises, and Apostle Mignone Kabera, as Mucyowera officially debuted her first two albums, Yesu Arashoboye and Imana Ikomeye—marking her first major live performance. Accompanied by her band, she delivered a soul-stirring set that included Adonai, Amaraso, Imana Ikomeye, Ndabihamya, Nta Mpamvu, Shimwa, Ntazagutererana, and Ubwo Nzakora Umurimo. Each performance drew the crowd into a deeper state of worship, filling the venue with emotion and reverence. ALSO READ: PhD-bound gospel singer Israel Mbonyi opens up on faith, education Apostle Mignone Alice Kabera shared a message drawn from Psalms 137, which recalls the Israelites’ grief in exile: “By the rivers of Babylon we sat and wept when we remembered Zion.” She spoke about how inspiration can fade in difficult times, yet true restoration is found in Jesus Christ. Referencing the story of the Samaritan woman at the well from John 4, she reminded the congregation that Jesus offers “living water” to those who believe in Him. “When you encounter and experience Jesus, restoration follows,” Kabera said. “It’s good to have a place of worship, but who you worship truly matters.” She also cited the prophet Elijah, whose faith and perseverance during trials revealed God’s sustaining power. To further support gospel outreach, Kabera donated Rwf5 million toward Mucyowera’s album, with additional contributions from attendees bringing the total to over Rwf8 million. Mucyowera returned for a second set featuring Eloyi, Sindi Uw’isi, Iyo Mana, and Yesu Arashoboye, before handing over the stage to Alarm Ministries, who performed Imana yo mu Misozi, Intwari ninde, and Iyo niyo Data. True Promises followed, closing the evening with Watubereye ibyiringiro, Ni bande?, and other worship anthems that kept the congregation singing past 11 p.m. Speaking to The New Times, Mucyowera said both albums share a central message about God’s greatness. She explained that launching them together allowed her to keep pace with ongoing studio work, as her next project is already nearing completion. “Yes, I’ve been in the spotlight for some time, but God chose this moment to deliver His message,” she said. “People have been requesting my show, and this was the perfect time.”
