Rwanda will receive below-average rainfall in November, according to Rwanda Meteorological Agency. ALSO READ: Meteo Rwanda mulls fee on forecast data According to a weather forecast announced on Friday, October 31, rainfall is expected to range between 50 mm and 200 mm across the country, lower than the long-term average of 50 mm to 300 mm for November. The highest amount, ranging between 170 mm and 200 mm, is expected in Western Province, Musanze, Burera and Gakenke districts in Northern Province, as well as in Nyamagabe and Nyaruguru districts in Southern Province. The districts of Rulindo and Muhanga, as well as parts of Nyaruguru, Nyamagabe, Gakenke, Musanze, Burera, Kamonyi, Gisagara, Huye, Nyanza, Ruhango, Nyagatare, Gicumbi, and Kigali, are forecast to receive an amount of rainfall ranging between 130mm and 170mm. ALSO READ: Heavy rainfall, strong winds expected in late October - Meteo Moderate rainfall of 90mm to 130mm is expected in Bugesera, Amayaga region, parts of Kigali, Gicumbi, Nyagatare, Gatsibo, and parts of Rwamagana and Ngoma Districts. The rest of the country is likely to receive 50mm to 90mm. Temperatures Maximum temperatures are expected to range from 28°C to 30°C in the Bugarama plain in Rusizi District as well as some parts of Kigali, Ruhango, Nyanza, Gisagara, Bugesera, and Ngoma. The lowest maximum temperatures of 18°C to 20°C are forecast in Musanze, Nyabihu, Ngororero and Rubavu. ALSO READ: Inside efforts to improve weather forecast accuracy Minimum temperatures will range from 7°C to 9°C in Musanze, Nyabihu, Ngororero, Nyungwe National Park, and parts of Rubavu and Rusizi. The highest minimum temperatures of 15°C to 17°C are expected in the Bugarama plain. Overall, November’s minimum temperatures are expected to remain within long-term averages. Wind forecast Moderate to strong winds of 4-12 metres/second are expected across the country. Strong winds (8–12m/s) will affect Bugarama, Karongi, Nyaruguru, Huye, Rutsiro, Rubavu, Nyanza, Ruhango, Ngororero, Nyabihu, Nyagatare, Gatsibo. Strong winds are also expected in Kigali, Muhanga, Gakenke and Rulindo. Elsewhere, winds are forecast to remain in the 4-8m/s range.
