Nineteen rally crews from Rwanda and Uganda are set to compete in the Huye Rally, scheduled to take place in Huye and Gisagara districts from October 24-26. A total of 18 Rwandan crews and one Ugandan crew will participate in the three-day competition. Among the Rwandan contenders are defending champions Jean Claude Gakwaya and Claude Mugabo, as well as last year’s third-place finishers Queen Kalimpinya and Olivier Ngabo. Other local drivers confirmed include Eric Gakwaya, who will team up with Aurore Kayibanda, and Christian Kanangire, who will partner with Kevin Mujiji. Uganda will be represented by drivers Joshua Muwanguzi, Isaac Sozi, and Faisal Kayira. The rally kicks off on Friday, October 24, with a qualifying stage in Huye City between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The main stages will take place on Saturday across Huye and Gisagara roads, before the competition concludes with the final stages on Sunday, October 26.
