Burundian singer and songwriter Kirikou Akili will join Rwandan artistes Davis D, Bushali, Diez Dola, Ross Kana, and Yampano at Mundi Center’s stage as headline acts for “Let’s Celebrate”, a concert expected to become a monthly celebration of music and artists’ growth. The event, which will take place on Sunday, October 19, is aimed at bringing people together to cheer up on their personal and collective achievements, according to organisers. The concert will also feature several emerging talents seeking platforms like this one. I’m going to do what I was born to do. I will bring the usual vibe and energy to the stage. I won’t disappoint,” said rapper Bushali. “This is my first big show in Kigali. I’ve been waiting for this moment. That’s what entertainment is all about,” said Kirikou Akili, the Burundian artist behind the viral song “Aha Nihe.” His performance will mark his special debut appearance in Kigali. According to Josue Umukundwa, one of the concert organisers, “Let’s Celebrate” is more than just a music event but a roller coaster of Rwanda’s achievements in sports, culture, and entertainment as an interconnected ecosystem. “It not only gives us a reason to acknowledge Rwanda’s achievements but also prepares audiences for a monthly series of top-notch entertainment. We recently hosted the Cycling World Championships, and soon we’ll host the Boxing World Championships. This concert is our way of celebrating progress collectively,” he said.
