Rwandan singer-songwriter Igor Mabano recently joined forces with Haitian-American talents DT Keyz and Steves J. Bryan and recorded a remix for his single ‘My Way’. The collaboration bridges African and Caribbean sounds, bringing together Afropop, Kompa, and Creole trap in a genre-fusing track that highlights the artists’ shared passion for musical innovation. Speaking on how the collaboration came to life, Mabano explained that he initially released ‘My Way’ as his single with a unique touch of Afropop mixed with Kompa. The song caught the attention of DT Key, days after Igor uploaded it on his streaming platforms. “As usual, it went online, and after DT Keyz listened to it reached out. We connected and talked about collaborating on other projects. He then suggested starting with the remix of ’My Way’,” he told The New Times. He further explained that DT Keyz promised to link him with one of the top rappers. That’s how he got connected with Steves J. Bryan, who is one of the biggest artists in Haiti and the USA, and they came together.
