The highlight the event was the slalom race, where drivers had to complete a twisting track as fast as possible. Hitting a pole added 10 seconds to their time. Professional rally driver Eric Gakwaya won first place in 52 seconds, while Fred Cesar Mwerekande trailed in second place with 56 seconds. Later on, motorcyclists amazed the crowd with daring moves like drifting, wheelies, and other tricks. Then came a colourful car parade during which drivers showed off their stunning rides, leaving fans entertained. “This was an amazing experience, seeing cars drifting, people cheering, and enjoying good music. I really enjoyed it,” said Chinese young racing fan Wang Liu who said it was his first time witnessing such an event since arriving in Rwanda in 2023. Lilly Umutoni said the event was exciting but called for more women to take part in future. “I enjoyed the show a lot,” she said. “It would be even better if women were also drifting and showing motorcycle skills. We need more balance,” she said. The crowd later made its way to Kigali Universe for the after-party, enjoying performances from dancers, top DJs, and rapper Ish Kevin, who closed the night in style.
