Renowned culture music artiste Jules Sentore is preparing to gift his music lovers with a third album, 'Umudende,' scheduled for release on August 1. His album release will coincide with Umuganura, Rwanda's harvest festival. ‘Umudende’ album not only represents yet a fresh milestone in Sentore's decade long musical journey but it also marks his comeback after going on and off the spotlight for the past two years or so. The album features 12 brand new compositions that showcase the singer’s commitment to preserving Rwanda's rich musical heritage. To celebrate Rwandan culture and storytelling, Sentore joined forces with a diverse group of rising artists, including Rugaba, Nkuba, Bakuri, and Icyogere Mubahungu whose unique skills, he said, made the collaborations particularly rewarding, noting that they are experts with special talent. including songs such as Rutemikirere, Ikirenga, Urumamo, and the collaborative track Inka featuring Rugaba. Other notable tracks include Inkuru y'abahungu, Juru ry'inyamibwa, Umutasi, Indamutsa featuring Bakuri, Karimi, Usa n'u Rwanda with Icyogere, Minwanziga, and Nkuyo featuring Nkuba. The album's title carries deep historical and cultural significance. 'Umudende' refers to a traditional medal of honor bestowed upon warriors who demonstrated exceptional bravery in defending Rwanda, particularly those capable of defeating up to seven opponents in combat. Sentore told The New Times that the decision to release the album on Umuganura is deeply intentional and symbolic. I want to release the album on this date because August 1st is Umuganura, so I decided to offer the album to my fellow Rwandans, he said. The timing reflects his desire to contribute to the nation's celebration of abundance and cultural pride during one of Rwanda's most significant traditional festivals. Sentore extends a heartfelt invitation to all traditional music enthusiasts, encouraging them to approach 'Umudende' with open minds and hearts. What I wish is that everyone who loves traditional music should take their time to listen to the album regardless of what they desire or what they are told by others. I believe without doubt they will be satisfied,” said Jules. Asked about his creative inspiration, the artiste revealed that his music draws from multiple sources. What inspires me to compose is people, places, and also when I have my own personal reason or when I'm given inspiration by others, he shared. Jules Sentore gained the attention and admiration of cultural and R&B music fans, backed by his strong vocals. He rose to stardom after the release of his first album in 2013 dubbed ‘Muraho Neza’, and later made hits like ‘Udatsikira’, ‘Ruca Imana’, ‘Warakoze,’ ‘Kora Akazi Akayama’ and ‘Mama’ to mention a few.
