Rwanda’s top cultural troupe, Inganzo Ngari, has announced a special performance titled “Tubarusha Inganji” on the occasion of the celebrating Umuganura (National Harvest Day), a feast that brings Rwandans together to celebrate their heritage. The concert, scheduled for August 1, at Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village, will take concert goers through Rwanda’s journey from overcoming past challenges to achieving victory and progress. According to Serge Nahimana, the Director of Inganzo Ngari, the theme ‘Tubarusha Inganji’ was drawn from Rwanda’s accomplishments, particularly considering the country’s difficult past, which it managed to overcome even when it seemed almost impossible. “Despite all those challenges, the country persevered and remained resilient. Every problem was addressed, and thanks to good decisions, positive outcomes followed. The country tightened its belt. We shared the little we had, but overall, wise choices led to significant progress,” Nahimana explained. “The event will celebrate that relief and reflect on how far we’ve come, and how we managed to overcome the odds as Rwandans.” ALSO READ: Inganzo Ngari’s halftime show: When African culture met basketball Nahimana said the show will feature a dramatic performance showing how Rwanda always finds solutions in every situation. He explained that the concert aligns with Umuganura Day because the troupe often organises such cultural events to mark this important day for Rwandans, making it a meaningful celebration for fans of traditional music and culture. “In the past, people celebrated the harvest of food, but today, we celebrate Rwanda’s achievements,” he said.
