Police Handball Club star player Samuel Mbesutunguwe has committed his future at the club after signing a two-year contract extension. The Rwanda international arrived at Police HC in 2021 where he spent four seasons before his contract expired in June 2025. His performance was instrumental as the law enforcers swept domestic rivals APR HC in the finals to win the national handball title. Police extended Mbesutunguwe’s deal to ward off interest from rivals after four of their players crossed to APR before the season ended. Mbesutunguwe is a player who has become famous in this game due to the skills he displays, both in the Police HC team and in the National Handball team. ALSO READ: Handball: Police aim revenge against APR as finals kick off After renewing his contract, Mbesutunguwe revealed many teams approached him to sign him but he turned their offers to stay at the club he enjoyed the best moments of his career during the past four seasons. I joined Police HC when I was young, after finishing high school. They treated me like their son rather than a player who was looking for money,” he said. “I have achieved a lot in life during my time at Police which is why I refused to sign for any of other teams that wanted me, he added.
