Finals Game 2 REG 79-72 APR (Series tied 1-1) Third place UGB 96-83 Patriots Rwanda Energy Group (REG) bounced back from Wednesday’s Game 1 defeat to beat defending champions APR 79-72 in Game 2 at BK Arena on Friday, July 4, and tie the best-of-seven finals series 1-1. Ogoh Odaudu’s men, led by shooting guard Cleveland Thomas Jr, shooting guard Prince Muhizi and center Garmine Kande Kieli looked supercharged and too difficult for APR to overcome and they returned into contention for what would be their first championship in three years. REG dominated the first quarter 26-11 but APR bounced back to cut the deficit after claiming the second quarter 23-14 to go into halftime trailing 34-40.
