The volleyball off-season is full of buzz as local teams continue to reinforce their squads ahead of the new season which kicks off in October. Gisagara VC are close to a reunion with middle blocker Ronald Muvara who is reportedly on his way out of Rwanda Energy Group (REG). Muvara left Gisagara in 2023 to sign for REG on a two-year deal but Times Sport has learned that the Rwandan star has agreed to return to the Southern Province-based side. REG could also lose team captain Sylvester Ndayisaba who is also linked to a move to Gisagara VC. Mukandayisenga becomes free agent APR star player Benitha Mukandayisenga is exploring new opportunities as her contract with the army side expires at the end of the season. Sources indicate that the likes of REG and Kepler VC have shown interest in their services. In another potential move, Police VC’s Emmy Twagirayezu had agreed to join APR VC while his teammate captain Olivier Ntagengwa is reportedly approaching retirement and is expected to join REG on a player-coach role. Ntagengwa, 33, brings a wealth of experience, having captained his club and represented Rwanda on both the national beach and indoor volleyball teams.
