Rayon Sports WFC striker Mary Chavinda has returned home to Malawi where he signed for home side FCB Nyasa Big Bullets on a two-year deal. The forward spent two years at Rayon Sports for which she netted 13 goals and provided 6 assists in 17 games during the 2024/25 season. She, however, decided to leave the club which was struggling to pay the players during the last months of the second round of the season. Chavinda praised the level of Rwandan women's football which she admitted raised her game. The league structure in Rwanda is different, they have multiple competitions like the league and various cup tournaments which help build stronger teams and greater competitiveness. This is something we can learn from back home, she told the press during her unveiling by Nyasa Big Bullets. The lions are determined to sign the versatile attacker to beef up their front three for both their continental and domestic competitions in the coming season. Also, Rayon Sports are interested in experience Ghanaian left-back Solomon Twene, as club attempts to fill the void left by Hakim Bugingo who moved to APR FC. Twene previously played for Bechem United, Great Olympics, Karela FC as well as Dreams FC. Lastly, youngster Francis Daayele could be the first signing of Espoir FC in their return to the Rwanda second division. Talks between the club and the player’s representatives are said to have reached an advanced stage.
