The Rotary Club of Kigali Golf officially installed Andrew Kulayige as its second president on June 20, succeeding Charter President Apollo Nkunda. The handover ceremony, held in Kigali, brought together Rotarians, Rotaractors, board members from other Rotary Clubs, community leaders, and guests. Kulayige, who currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Britam Insurance (Rwanda), brings over 15 years of leadership experience across multiple sectors, marking a new chapter in the club’s ongoing commitment to service and impact in Rwanda. In his inaugural speech, Kulayige reaffirmed his commitment to Rotary’s core values, emphasizing that the global organization offers a unique space for leadership and meaningful service. “Rotary is more than just service, it’s about purpose-driven leadership and real community impact, said Kalayige. I’m honored to take on this role and build on the strong foundation laid by those before me. Together, we will deepen our impact and champion sustainable initiatives that bring lasting change. Kulayige also highlighted the importance of growing the club’s membership while focusing on high-impact projects that address societal needs in Rwanda. He emphasized the value of collaboration with Rotary International to adapt successful global initiatives to the local context and to increase Rwanda’s visibility within the broader Rotary community. “We aim to grow not just in numbers, but in the impact we make, he said. By learning from successful Rotary projects around the world and tailoring them to Rwanda’s needs, we can elevate our presence internationally and bring meaningful change at home. My message is simple: when we come together and commit to service, we truly have the power to change the world—one community at a time.” ALSO READ: Rotary Club Kigali Golf empowers deaf community Outgoing Presiden Nkunda, who is Managing Partner at Trust Law Chambers, reflected on his term with gratitude and optimism for the club’s future.
