Former Rayon Sports midfielder Kevin Muhire has said he is ready to embrace a new challenge at Jamus SC of South Sudan, a club he joined last week. The 26-year-old left Rayon Sport after an impressive 2023/2024 season, where he played a pivotal role in helping the club finish as runners-up in both the Rwandan Premier League and the Peace Cup. ALSO READ: Official: Kevin Muhire joins Jamus SC on one-year deal “I am looking forward to playing regularly, and I want to help the club improve on the continental level,” he told Times Sport. “I am fit and ready for the new challenge ahead of me. I am trying to establish relationships with my new teammates and the club in general, and after that, it will be easy for me to adapt,” he added. His arrival is seen as a major boost for Jamus SC, who are looking to strengthen their midfield ahead of the new season as they aim for further domestic success, since they are the defending champions of the South Sudanese league. I will be trying my best to help my club perform well,” he said. Muhire has good international experience, having played for clubs in Egypt and the Gulf, including Misr Lel Makkasa in Egypt, Saham Club (Oman), and Al-Yarmouk SC (Kuwait). Muhire began his career at Isonga FC, where he helped the club earn promotion. In 2015, he joined Rayon Sports and contributed to their league title. In 2019, he moved to Egypt to sign with Misr Lel Makkasa, and later went on loan spells with El Dakhleya and Tala’ea El Gaish. In 2020, he joined Saham club in Oman before returning to Rayon Sports in 2021. A year later, he signed for Kuwaiti side Al-Yarmouk SC, and then returned again to Rayon Sports in 2023. He has represented his country at all youth levels: U-17, U-20, and U-23, before graduating to the senior national team, Amavubi.
