The Tanzanian women’s cricket team has clinched their first-ever Kwibuka Women's T20 championship, defeating Zimbabwe by 32 runs in the final match held at Gahanga Cricket Stadium on Saturday, June 14. In the battle for third place, host nation Rwanda fell short against Uganda, who secured the bronze medal. In the final, Tanzania won the toss and elected to bat first, posting a total of 99 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Chasing 100 for victory, Zimbabwe struggled to build momentum and were bowled out for just 67 runs after 19.3 overs, handing Tanzania a decisive 32-run victory. Uganda set a target of 107 runs for 5 wickets in their 20 overs. Rwanda, in response, could only manage 87 runs for the loss of 7 wickets, ceding the bronze medal to Uganda. Neema Justin Pius of Tanzania was honoured as the best batter for scoring the most runs, while Uganda's Ritah Musamali was awarded for her exceptional fielding.
