The national football team, Amavubi, will be aiming for victory as it comes up against Algeria today, June 9, in the two teams’ second international friendly match. Set to take place in Algiers, the Algerian capital at 9 PM(Kigali Time), the game comes four days after Rwanda lost the first encounter 2-0 on June 5, with goals from Youcef Belaili and Jaouen Hadjam ensuring the victory for the north Africans. In a media interview, defender Claude Niyomugabo said the team is motivated and ready, as he pointed out that the friendly game is a good opportunity for them to show what they can do ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Benin and Nigeria. The friendly game also offers Amrouche an opportunity to test new players, build team chemistry, and refine his tactics.
