Rwandan rapper Angell Mutoni said she has finally released a special project she’s been working on, reflecting on her 10 years in music. She shared this with a group of close friends, artistes, and family during a listening party for her maiden album ‘The Delivery” held at Kamahwa Food Court, Retail and Venue on May 28. The “bounce” singer said this is the “perfect time” to give her music to her Rwandan audience. Even though she has always stayed active in music, she felt something was missing and this new project shows her deep love and commitment to rap. The album, which will be released to public on Friday, May 30, holds a special meaning as it represents “growth, freedom, and ambition”, especially for Rwandan hip-hop fans. This is me, doing what I love and giving it my all,” she said. During the event, Angell Mutoni took a moment to thank the many people who supported her, especially fellow artistes and those who helped her shape the album and supported her music journey. She has been a steady force in Rwanda’s rap scene since 2014. In a male-dominated industry where female rappers often face challenges, she has pushed her voice through over the years but 2025 turned to be a defining year of her career which spans over 10 years in the game. While she may not be a household name, many people have heard her music. Mutoni stays true to her unique style, creating music that appeals to elite and international audiences rather than just aiming for local popularity. She blends Kinyarwanda, English, and French with globally appealing beats, striking a balance between authenticity and international reach. Aside from rap, Angell is also known for her poetry, freestyle skills (which she first showed on the popular TV show Code250 in 2014), and podcasting. She is a versatile artiste who has explored different styles of rap, like old-school hip-hop, trap, Afrobeats, and drill — all while staying true to her own unique sound.
