Bugesera (men) and Kicukiro (women) emerged winners of the 2024/25 National Wheelchair Basketball Championship after beating Kicukiro and Gasabo in the finals held at the NPC gymnasium on Sunday, May 11. Kicukiro women lifted the trophy after a commanding 34–8 victory over Gasabo team while, in the men’s final, Bugesera displayed equally impressive prowess, clinching the championship with a strong 37–21 victory over the Kicukiro. ALSO READ: Musanze, Bugesera crowned national Sitting volleyball champions The wheelchair 2024/25 national championship brought together six teams including four in men’s category namely Bugesera, Gasabo, Musanze, Indangamirwa while Kicukiro and Gasabo were competing in women’s category.
