Rwanda started off the U20 World Cup qualifying campaign on a good note as they beat Zimbabwe 2-1 in the first leg of the first round at Kigali Pele Stadium on Sunday. Forward Claudette Gisubizo netted a second half winner as the home side cruised to a 2-1 win ahead of the second leg on Wednesday. Rwanda shot ahead in the second minute through a perfect finish from Darlene Ishimwe as he connected beautifully from a superb free kick from the right. ALSO READ: Rwanda to face Zimbabwe in u20 womens world cup qualifiers Zimbabwe responded immediately in the 12th minute as Bethel Kondo fired in a free kick close to the Rwanda penalty box which beat goalkeeper Joana Maombi at the near post. Gisubizo scored the second goal for Rwanda in the 51st minute as they held on to a 2-1 win. The forward collected the ball inside Zimbabwe penalty box before turning around and fire past goalkeeper Cortilda Chirinda. The second leg is scheduled for the same venue on Wednesday, May 14.
