Police women’s volleyball club won their first national volleyball league championship after a hard-fought victory over APR in four sets (25-23, 20-25, 25-23, 25-22) in Game 3 of the best-of-three finals series at Petit Stade on Sunday, May 11. Christian Hatumimana’s side had to recover from Game 1 loss to even the series with a tiebreak victory in Game 2 on Saturday before completing the comeback on Sunday in style. Police started the game aggressively and claimed the opening set 25-23 before APR responded to take second set 25-20 and go level in the game. This marks Police’s first championship only after two seasons competing in the national women’s volleyball league. This was a victory that we have been fighting for.
