Rwanda Division 2 club Sunrise FC are set to release their coach Jackson Mayanja following their inability to make it to the playoff. The Ugandan tactician was appointed as head coach of Sunrise on November 1, 2023 replacing Hassan Muhire. The club was at the time playing in the Rwanda Premier League. Mayanja's initial contract was due to expire at the end of the 2023/24 season but he could not help the team stay in top tier division. The club management, however, kept faith in him and offered him a one-year deal and tasked him to qualify them back to topflight football. A new coach will be appointed to help bring the team back to the Premier League, the source said.
