President Paul Kagame on Wednesday, April 30, met with Shawn McCormick, Chairman of Trinity Metals, which manages three major mining companies in Rwanda. “Their discussions focused on the investment and partnership opportunities available in the country, especially in the mining sector,” the Office of the President said in a post on X. The Nyakabingo mine in Rulindo District in Northern Province is the largest producer of tungsten in Africa. The mineral is used in manufacturing of metal wires, electrodes, and wear-resistant machine parts. Trinity also manages Rutongo mines also in Rulindo and Musha mines in Rwamagana in Eastern Province.
