In thrilling African Volleyball Championship matchups, APR VC swept Cameroon’s Litto Team Volleyball Club (LTV), while Kepler VC secured their third win in a tie-break set against Kenya Prisons VC in Libya on Wednesday, April 23. The fifth day of the tournament witnessed Kepler bounce back from their first loss against El Etihad, battling hard against Kenya Prisons to a 3-2 victory (23-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-23, 15-9). Meanwhile, APR continued their winning streak, sweeping LTV 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-22). The result placed APR in second place in Group D, trailing Espérance de Tunis, who top the standings with 12 points. Later, Kepler, another Rwandan side, fought hard to register a victory against Kenya Prisons, having trailed 23-25 in the first set. However, they regained rhythm in the second set, which ended 25-20 in their favour. But in the fourth and fifth sets, coach Fidele Nyirimana adjusted his team's defence, which allowed them to claim the final sets with scores of 25-23 and 15-9. The continental volleyball games continue this Thursday, April 24. APR will face Egypt’s Al Nassr, while Kepler will play against Ethiopia’s Wolaita Dicha Sports Club.
