Catholics in the country have paid glowing tribute to the late Pope Francis who passed away on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025 at his Vatican residence, Casa Santa Marta at 88. Pope Francis died after a prolonged illness. He was hospitalized on February 14 at Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic Hospital for bronchitis but his condition deteriorated due to bilateral pneumonia.
