Rayon Sports interim head coach Claude Rwaka has expressed his optimism about the club’s chances of winning the 2024/25 Rwanda Premier League title. The Blues defeated Muhazi United 2-0 at Ngoma Stadium on Saturday to move two points clear at the top with 50 points as they await title rivals APR's game with Etincelles on Sunday. Rwaka, who took over the team on Monday after Brazilian gaffer Robertinho Oliveira was suspended due to a poor run of results, said they won’t easily give up on the title race and promised to keep the fight till the last day of the campaign. We must prepare for all our games so that we do not make any mistake of losing any game again. Rwaka told the press after crucial win in Ngoma. He also pointed out that the team spirit is back after the win over Muhazi United and it will help them keep the tempo in the remaining matches. If a team is in bad times for a while, the most difficult thing is to get 3 points but when you manage to get them, the team spirit returns. I think that winning again makes us happy and brings the leaders closer to us. We can now take advantage of all the remaining games. Rayon's closest rivals APR are on 48 points and the Blues will be praying they slip against Etincelles on Sunday at Kigali Pele Stadium so that they (Rayon) can maintain their top spot.
