After more than two years away from the spotlight, celebrated US-based Rwandan gospel musician Patient Bizimana has made a stirring comeback with the release of a brand-new single, “Agakiza.” The singer, who relocated to the United States in November 2022 to join his wife, has kept a low profile since the move. He hadn’t recorded any new music until Monday, April 14 when he dropped “Agakiza.” “I had taken a break because of many responsibilities—work, family, and settling into life in a new country,” he told The New Times. The new single marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for the artiste. Known for hits like “Menye Neza,” “Andyohera Cyane” and “Ubwo Buntu,” Patient is once again using his music to spread a message of hope and salvation. To celebrate his return, he will for the first time stage his routine Easter Celebration concert out of the country. His debut edition will take place in Canada, with two major shows lined up in Ottawa on April 19 and another in Montreal on April 20. “I decided to do a concert in Canada because there are many Rwandans who can gather together for a concert like this,” said the artiste who already landed in Ottawa on Monday ahead of the two concerts. “America is so big, people are scattered, and it’s difficult for them to attend concerts by their favourite artistes. It’s actually easier for some of them to travel to Canada than to America. So I hope to see people from both countries at the concert.” Looking ahead, Patient Bizimana revealed plans for a full studio album set to be released on April 5, 2026. “Agakiza” is the first track from the upcoming project, which he promises will reflect his spiritual growth and life journey over the past two years. With his unmistakable voice and renewed passion, Patient Bizimana is ready to reconnect with his audience and continue his mission of uplifting souls through gospel music—this time on a broader international stage. He will share the stage with fellow gospel musicians Serge Iyamuremye, Aime Frank and Miss Dusa who all live in Canada.
