Egypt has been awarded the hosting rights for the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) U20, following the withdrawal of Ivory Coast due to unforeseen circumstances, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on March 27. The decision comes after the Fédération Ivoirienne de Football (FIF) and the government of Côte d'Ivoire informed CAF of their inability to host the event. The Egyptian FA and the Egyptian government had previously submitted a bid to host the tournament, making them a suitable replacement. CAF confirmed that the tournament will take place from April 27 to May 18.
