Two officials in Nyaruguru District have been arrested over allegations in embezzlement of public funds and the use of falsified documents, according to Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB). A statement by RIB on March 21 identified the suspects as Leon Ndungutse, the director of public works in Nyaruguru District, and Arthur Amahe, the official in charge of social affairs in the same district. ALSO READ: Muhanga: Two officials arrested over corruption The duo are accused of embezzling moer than Rwf3.3 million, which had been allocated for the poverty eradication programme VUP across 12 sectors of Nyaruguru District. They are currently being held at RIB Kibeho Station in Nyaruguru District while their case is being processed for submission to the Prosecution.
