Tuesday, March 19 Espoir vs REG – 6:00 PM APR vs UGB – 8:30 PM League leaders APR will be eager to maintain their unbeaten run when they face United Generation Basketball (UGB) at Petit Stade indoor gymnasium, on Wednesday, March 19, as the league embarks on the second round. The game will tip off at 8:30 PM. The army side, led by American tactician James Maye Jr., has been a dominant force so far this season, as they remain the only team unbeaten with an 8-8 win ratio. They finished the first round at the top of the league table with 16 points. The last encounter between the two team in the first round end 86-61 in favor of APR. The Rwandan champions may, however, face a different UGB side which has strengthened its roster with the recent addition of Ghanaian small forward James Amotoe who, prior to UGB move, played for Spintex Knights and helped them win the championship undefeated. While Wednesday marks the beginning of the second round, some teams, including REG and Patriots, still have one game apiece to close the first round. The two teams have a match between them on Friday, March 21, at BK Arena. Teams which will finish in the top four at the end of the regular season will qualify for the semi-finals playoffs, which will be played in a best-of-five series.
